This channel was started about 15 years ago, but lately I've decided to make a shift in content. I'm rebranding as "Weird SoIL." I've lived in Southern Illinois most of my life, and many people abbreviate it as SoIL. My goal with this channel is to share remarkable (and remarkably weird) information and stories about the area, as well as my roots. Get it now? SoIL & roots? In addition to the stories, I'll be sharing some of my favorite recipes and talking about my favorite authors, tv shows, movies, and maybe a little music. Fair warning though - I intend to talk about Stephen King a lot. I've read most of his books. In addition to the stories and recipes, I'll be talking about our homestead (100+ chickens, a Great Pyrenees and some barn cats. I'm not working because I'm disabled. I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and it's taking it's toll, especially having had three spinal fusions. Also, I'm a bariatric patient so I'll be talking about weight loss surgery. Instagram @weirdsoil
