OthaSoul’s presence within the UK hip-hop community has been both inspiring and needed. Described by OkayPlayer as "arguably the smoothest-sounding British rap collective we've heard in recent memory," the duo have certainly made a lasting impression since their introduction. Louis VI and Dozer Carter were both raised in Kentish Town but never crossed paths despite living within half a mile of each other. It wasn't until a mutual friend recognised their similar taste in music that they were introduced and began to collaborate. Louis had always been an emcee, though, initially, Dozer was solely a producer, and so their first musical endeavours together were Dozer producing songs for some of Louis' earlier solo projects. ...
