The Central Andrey Rublev Museum of Ancient Russian Culture and Art is located in the old Savior St. Andronicus Monastery on the picturesque bank of the river Yauza. These include the oldest remaining stone building in Moscow—the Cathedral of the Savior, built in the time of Andrey Rublev.
The Andrey Rublev Museum was founded in 1947. The museum’s collection numbers more than ten thousand works of art: icons from the 13th—early 20th centuries, works of ornamental art, manuscripts and early printed books, and fresco fragments. This collection provides a complete and comprehensive picture of the art of Old Russia.
