“Born in the USA was the first tape cassettes I ever owned. As a child I used to sit in front of my uncles old Marantz stereo with the big silver knob and listen to "I'm on fire" on repeat. It's the first song I remember ever casting a spell on me. After singing it to myself for years I came up with my own little version and decided to record it with the Alabaster Valley Choir while in session at United Recordings here in Los Angeles. We tracked it in the same room Frank Sinatra recorded "Fly me to the moon". It's meant as a nod and thank you to Bruce.”
