A series of conversations with the communities affected by the collapse of a mining dam in Brazil in 2015. On November 5th, 2015, the "Fundao" dam in Minas Gerais collapsed, and a tsunami of toxic mud was released, burying villages, contaminating rivers, water tables and the Atlantic ocean. Over 1 million people were affected, and their lives were structurally altered forever. "Mud Refugees" consists of 4 episodes showcasing different groups of people that were impacted by this disaster.
