In an effort of composing a guiding path, we activate a formulaic principle based on the law of the octave. Such a formula is derived from a recurrent, balanced body movement from which every impulse originates as something sensed, as opposed to being subject to will or notation. This formulaic principle (known as the ‚E.T.–code' developed by CAN drummer Jaki Liebezeit) can also be grasped as an energy structure. In 'grooving' all those involved become attuned to one another in a resistance against arbitrary dictates in that the music expands beyond aesthetic limits of ‚exotica‘ or notions of folklore.
