Matthew Tran-Adams, originally from Niagara Falls, Canada, has worked as a university and secondary school educator, musician, composer, freelance developmental editor of textbooks, and writer. Matthew's own musical background is varied in that he grew up playing in rock and Celtic bands, he has studied Chinese traditional music, and he has a degree in classical music performance. One of his professional interests is incorporating world music into his performances and compositions and he has written extensively about infusing antiracist theory into music education.
