Direct Link Bill Manspeaker is the founder and frontman of Green Jellÿ, a rock band that makes some of the worst music you’ve ever heard. During Covid, Bill brought LA's punk scene together by throwing weekly variety shows out of the storefront he lived above. The gamble caught the attention of the legendary Whisky a Go Go venue, which offered Bill a monthly residency. I won a green Jell-O fan contest when I was a kid about 13-14, it was around 1994 and the prize for winning the contest was Bill calling me up on the telephone and talking to me. He talked to me for almost 2 hours, and was gregarious, funny, inquisitive, and just overall extremely genuine. I'll never forget that phone call and the impact it had on me. Green jello will always have a special place in my heart and Bill will always be a legend to me. 705 likes

Bill manspeaker is a national treasure! He came to my hometown in Nova Scotia Canada to play a show at our local rec center like 2 years ago bc a friend of mine reached out and asked him too and he said YES! Green Jellÿ played for like 200 people or less. In a small Nova scotia Town of 10,000 people bc we asked him too. it was a wikkit night for all who attended. Stuff like that doesn’t happen in our town. He made a lot of 30/40 year old kids dreams come true that night And we’ll never forget him for it! 🤘😝 177 likes

My dad joined Green Jellö in 2012 and I joined in 2013. It is still one of the greatest experiences I've had playing on stage. If you guys don't know him, you may know him as Peavy Staxx. I still remember the first show I played with them at the Music-Is-Art Festival at Canalside around downtown Buffalo. I still remember Bill coming up to me telling me to solo during The Bear song. Still funny to me that he called my Electric Cello a "stand-up bass." Lol. Technically he wasn't incorrect. I messaged my dad after I grabbed a copy of Maximum Carnage for the SNES and he was thrilled to see it. I'm hoping when Bill comes back to town I can get it signed by him lol 96 likes

As a kid who grew up during the 80s, I was always intrigued and thoroughly entertained by the musical style and theatrical insanity of Green Jelly. Three Little Pigs left a lasting impression. 196 likes

11:27 that moment of realization of his mothers support being the sole factor for chasing & achieving his dreams is beautiful. Coming from a family that’s jehovas witness and wanting to do music all my life I understand the impact of people telling you all the time you can’t do something and to just be “regular” and “follow the rules set for you” , can really tear you down especially when it’s from someone you really look up to and seek approval from like your father….but it’s a even bigger impact when you have that one or 2 people in your corner rooting for you to keep going despite what anyone says. Thanks mom and my big bro for always believing in my dreams when nobody else would see it. They were at my first performance with just 30 people in the room…10 years later and I own my own recording studio with my best friends doing what we love for a living working with some of the most renowned names in and around our city for music. Just goes to show how far a little support can go from someone you love. And to those who may not have those people in their corner don’t ever stop pursuing your dreams, life’s too short to not atleast try. Cause in the end atleast you can say you did it then wondering what if 110 likes

I've been a Green Jelly fan since Maximum Carnage came out on the SNES, and I thought it was so cool and random -- yet fitting for Carnage's character -- that they would choose Bill to score the game. He snuck so many movie themes and popular songs into that game, that it's amazing no one got sued, I love that Green Jelly is forever linked to Marvel now. EDIT: I know it's "Jello", but I was too stupid to put an umlaut. 191 likes

Wow, I remember being 10 or 11 and hearing Three Little Pigs for the first time. As a pre-teen I thought it was the coolest, heaviest rock song I had ever heard & I played that tape over & over so much that it became warped as all hell lol. I remember sitting there watching MTV any chance I got with my finger on the VCR record button hoping & praying I'd finally catch the video in time to preserve it on tape, and to this day I still have that glorious homemade compilation of all my favorite videos around that time 😃 72 likes

Green Jelly has always been a HUGE inspiration to me. As a kid, I remember rocking their clothes, listening to their CDs, and watching all the videos I could get my hands on. This is such an amazing mini doc and exactly what I needed to see and hear. Be true to yourself and have fun doing it. You'll never work a day in your life. 32 likes

I'm a metalhead through and through. Probably have been to 300-400 concerts now. Saw them at Joe's Grotto in Phoenix Arizona about 10 years ago. They are easily in my top 10 of my most funnest concerts I've ever been too. If you ever have a chance to go see them please do, you won't be disappointed. 73 likes

Punk Rock is the best thing that ever happen to the Rock scene and music in general, good to see some of its spirit is still alive. I miss the 80s so much. 15 likes
